Participation of Youth Under Mission Fateh-2 Will Be Helpful to Make Punjab CORONA Free-K K Sharma

PRTC  Chairman K K Sharma said that the participation of the youth in the Mission Fateh-2.0 campaign launched by the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would go a long way in making Punjab Corona free.  He said that with the help of youth the target of 100 percent Covid vaccination in the state would be easily achieved.
       Mr K K Sharma was participating in the virtual program chaired by the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh across the state to launch the active participation of youth in Mission Fateh 2.0, here in the District Administrative Complex’s Committee Room,today.
       Later on, Mr K K  Sharma accompanied by Mr Harinderpal Singh Herrymann, Chairperson Punjab Social Welfare Board, Gursharan Kaur Randhawa, District Congress President (Urban Patiala) Mr K K Malhotra, Vice Chairman, Large Scale Industry Board, K K Sehgal, PEDA Vice Chairman Mr Anil Mangla, District Planning Committee Chairman Mr Santokh Singh, Improvement Trust Chairman Mr Sant Banga, Zilha Parishad Chairperson, Mrs Raj Kaur, District Congress President (Patiala Rural) Mr Gurdeep Singh Untsar, District Women Congress (Patiala)  President Mrs Kiran Dhillon and District  Youth Congress President Sanjeev Sharma, also launched distribution of car stickers and ‘I have been vaccinated’ badges arranged by the Youth Affairs Department in Patiala district.
       Chairman Mr  K K Sharma also lauded the decision of the Chief Minister to set up seven Rural Corona Volunteer (RCV) groups per village or per municipal ward to fight the Corona pandemic, more effectively.  He said that in view of the fact that the villages were badly affected during the second wave of Covid, the Chief Minister had launched a concerted campaign to make ‘Corona Free Village’ which would soon yield fruitful results.      He said that the Chief Minister had also announced that a sports kit would be given to each RCV on the occasion of International Youth Day on August 12 to play a constructive role in the fight against Corona.
        Deputy Commissioner Mr Kumar Amit said that the orders of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would be implemented in Patiala district in principle to launch an effective awareness campaign against Covid pandemic by setting up of Rural Corona Volunteers’ groups, village wise and ward wise.
      He further said, “the move is aimed at creating awareness among the people through RCVs about tests, trace and treatment, by taking care of the poor and the elderly and facilitating their access to the Covid Control Room and Helplines.”  Besides, other initiatives such as patrolling (Thikri Pehras) in all villages, following all the precautions to prevent the contagion, helping the villagers to get good treatment facilities, staying away from quacks, downloading Cova app, access to awareness material banners and booklets etc.  would also be taken by these RCVs as their responsibilities to reach out to everyone.
        ADC (D) Dr.  Preeti Yadav, ADC  (G) Pooja Sayal Grewal, Extra Assistant Commissioner (UT) Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Assistant Director Youth Services Dr  Malkit Singh Mann and District Sports Officer Shaswat Rajdan were also present.
