IBM Skill Builder Project Initiated at SGGS World University

The Department of Training and Placement SGGSWU in association with the program Punjab Skill Development Mission (PSDM) introduced the Program IBM Skills Build Project at its campus.   Mr. Amit Sharma (Sr. Project Associate) IBM introduced the program and guided the students and faculty of the Computer Science & Management dept. He discussed how to register to avail of the courses.  More than 250 students have participated in this program which was conducted in two sessions at the campus.

Mr. Amit discussed various opportunities for IBM Skills Build. He informed that the digital learning platform with more than  10,000 courses on cyber security, data analysis, cloud computing, and many other technical courses would be offered free of cost to students of the University. It also includes workplace skills such as collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and design thinking. It focuses on industry-relevant skill development in students and job seekers who are above 18 years of age. On the successful completion of these courses, youth can earn IBM-certified badges and certificates which will help them to showcase the latest industry-relevant skills that they will acquire.  

Prof. Incharge (Training & Placements) Dr. C. Rajesh welcomed and thanked the team.  He said that such opportunities are necessary to make the students of the University aware of various government programs, which may help them to gain employment and to start their own independent careers. The vice-chancellor of the University Dr. Prit Pal Singh met the dignitary and extended full support to the IBM and PSDM for the extension of this initiative, on the campus.
