World University Organises a Talk on Passion for Teaching: the Most Wonderful Profession

Department of Education Organised an extension lecture on the theme “Passion for Teaching – the most wonderful profession”. The session began with an extensive deliberation on the present status of higher education amongst Prof Pritpal Singh (Vice Chancellor), Professor S. S. Billing (Dean Academic Affairs) and Dr Sandeep Sawhney (the resource person for the day). They discussed the current problems in higher education system and their possible solutions. 

Addressing the audience, Dr Sawhney, Principal, Doraha College of Education deliberated on the essential qualities of a teacher. He traced the journey of a change in the role of teachers from historic to present times. The students also shared their experiences of school education and about the role their teachers have played in their life. 

Concluding the session, Dr Harneet Billing, Department In Charge shared her personal experience as a teacher and her vision of being a teacher educator. She explained the theme of World Teachers day 2022 and elaborated its relevance in the present time.
