Sri Lanka’s Parliament condemns Lankan national’s lynching in Pakistan

Sri Lanka, 4 December: Sri Lanka’s Parliament on Saturday condemned the lynching of a Sri Lankan national in Pakistan and urged the authorities there to ensure the safety of the rest of the Sri Lankan ex-pat workers in the country.

In a grisly incident on Friday, Priyantha Kumara Diyawadana, who was in his 40s, was lynched and his body burnt by angry supporters of a hardline Islamist party that attacked a garment factory in Pakistan’s Punjab province over blasphemy allegations.
