Special Campaign held for Boosting Covid Vaccination Campaign in Villages

A rural immunization plan (Door to Door Vaccination) has been prepared in Patiala district to expedite the vaccination drive in the villages to prevent them from the possible third wave of Covid, said deputy commissioner, Kumar Amit by adding that the campaign will be started from tomorrow with a target of complete vaccination of the villages having 40 percent or more coverage.       Deputy Commissioner Kumar Amit while holding a meeting, this evening, with the officers of the concerned departments like Health Department, Panchayat Department, Revenue Department, Agriculture Department and Cooperation Department and SDMs of the concerned sub-divisions said that we have learned a lot from the surge in Covid cases in the villages during the second wave and now based on the experience, this special campaign is being launched to speed up the vaccination in the villages. He said that an action plan has been prepared in this regard under which door to door vaccination would be started in ten villages of each block per week and the vaccination drive would be completed in the next one and half months.
    During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner Mr. Kumar Amit directed the various departments to cooperate with the health department in the Covid vaccination drive being carried out in the villages and to launch a special campaign to create awareness among the people about vaccination, a day before.  He directed the SDMs to personally supervise the vaccination drive and ensure that 150 persons were vaccinated daily by the team.
    He directed the concerned departments to provide SDMs daily data.  He asked the officials to ensure that the daily immunization program was announced in the village one day in advance so that the villagers could know in advance about the arrival of the team and make the most of it.  He said that Covid vaccination could be expedited by involving the educated youth of the villages in this campaign.
    Making an appeal to the residents of Patiala district, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was committed to make Covid vaccination accessible to every beneficiary and a complete strategy has been devised for this, but it would be successful only with the full support of the people by joining the vaccination campaign to prevent the Covid.
    During the meeting, Nodal Officer Covid 19 Immunization Dr.  Preneet Kaur said that so far more than four lakh beneficiaries have been vaccinated and a plan has been prepared to expedite it. Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Pooja Sayal Grewal, Assistant Commissioner (UT) Chandra Jyoti, SDM  Patiala Charanjit Singh, SDM  Nabha Kala Ram Kansal, SDM  Samana Naman Markan, SDM Patran Palika Arora, SDM  Rajpura Khushdil Singh, Extra Assistant Commissioner (UT) Jagnoor Singh, Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Nodal Officer Covid-19 Immunization Officer, Dr. Preneet, District Immunization Officer  Venu Goyal, DR Cooperative Societies, Sarbeshwar Singh Mohi were also present.
