PGIMS Doctors Removed 40 feet Iron Rods after 5 Hours of Operation

India (Haryana, 31 October): Doctors in Rohtak PGIMS, have performed a sophisticated surgery under the guidance of cardiac surgeon Dr. SS Lohchab, where they have successfully removed two iron rods that pierced the right side of the chest of an 18 years old boy. The rod which was pierced in the chest was 40-feet long.

Dr. Lohchab said, ” there was an accident between the boy and a cart loaded with iron roads and 40 feet long iron rod was was pierced in the chest. When the patient was brought to the PGIMS, No X-ray or CT scan was feasible as the patient could not lie down with iron rods. The 40 feet long iron rod was cut by the locals. He was instantly taken to the operation theater where the operation lasted for 5 hours. The patient is alright after the operation and his respiratory system is working fine said the doctors.

Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Frankleena, Prof Naveen Malhotra, and Dr. Indra Malik were the other members of the team who performed the surgery.
