Gurus gave equal status to the great revolutionary Bhagat Kabir Ji in Sri Guru Granth Sahib: Advocate Dhami
Sep 7 ( Fatehgarh Sahib) Bhagat Kabir Welfare Foundation organized a seminar on the life and teachings of Bhagat Kabir Ji at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib in which Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, President, Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee was the chief guest. Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, while inaugurating the seminar said that Bhagat Kabir ji was a revolutionary who was given the status of equality by the Gurus. He said that the Bani of revolutionary Bhagat Kabir has been recorded by the Gurus in Sri Guru Granth Sahib. He said that Bhagat Kabir ji spoke truth, even going against the wave of time.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Chancellor of Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Dr. Pritpal Singh welcomed Advocate Dhami and the distinguished guest’s Granthi Giani Joginder Singh, Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, Sri Anandpur Sahib, Pro-Chancellor Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, General Secretary of Shiromani Committee Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli and Swaran Singh, the eminent Panthak thinker.
On this occasion, Dr. Paramvir Singh Head, Department of Sikh Encyclopedia, Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Head of Department of Religion, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, and Surinder Singh Kishanpura were the keynote speaker in the seminar. They presented their views on the life and teachings of Bhagat Kabir.
On this occasion, Bhai Surinder Singh Kishanpura, spokesperson of Bhagat Kabir Welfare Foundation said that Bhagat Kabir ji contributed in building a society in which freedom and dignity of human beings can be preserved. He made people aware against the social injustices of the time.
On this occasion the general secretary of the Shiromani Committee, S. Karnail Singh Panjoli, Akali Dal District President, Jagdeep Singh Cheema, University Trust member Amardeep Singh Dharni, Shiromani Committee member Avtar Singh Riya, Foundation President Balwinder Singh and General Secretary Pradeep Singh Happy and other dignitaries were present. On the occasion Arveen Kaur Sandhu, Bibi Surjit Kaur, Prof. Manpreet Kaur, Satnam Kaur Shekhmanajra were awarded for their services in various fields.
