An Anthology of Mini story ‘Falak’ released at World University

The World Ontario Friends Club, Canada, in association with Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, organized a release ceremony and a poetry recital of the mini story collection “Falak”. The function was attended by S. Surjit Singh Kang Executive Member Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee as the Chief Guest. The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prit Pal Singh presided over the function. Dr. SS Tivetia, Vice-Chancellor, Neelam University, Kaithal was the special guest.
Mr. Surjit Singh Kang in his speech said that such events prove to be very useful in connecting Sikhs and Punjabis across the seas and in different parts of India. Vice-Chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh in his address on the occasion said that positive literature has a great contribution in creating a healthy society. He urged the writers of Punjab to create literature on the problems of Punjab such as environmental issues, low water level, dowry system and other social evils. Dr. Tivetia, quoting the Gurus’ philosophy of Sarbat Bhala, said that the Sikh community had made its place in the world with langar and other services.
Dr. Gursewak Singh Lambi, Director Youth Welfare, Punjabi University, Patiala and Dr. Hari Singh Jachak, Chairman, Paramdeep Singh Deep Memorial Society, Ludhiana were present as special guests. President of the Ontario Friends Club of Canada Ravinder Singh Kang welcomed all the dignitaries. He said that in order to be a good person and to create a good society, it is necessary to have mental satisfaction and literary thinking so as to create a healthy social environment.
To make the event a success under the leadership of Ravinder Singh Kang, General Secretary of the Core Committee of the Club, Dr. Amanpreet Kaur Kang, President of Punjab Unit Deep Ratti, Vice President Dr. Satinderjit Kaur Butter along with Pawanjit Kaur Programming Officer and Goldie Singh, the executive officer worked together. At the end of the function, Mrs. Kanwaldeep Kochhar thanked all the dignitaries and guests and congratulated them on the success of the function.
