Diwali Mela was celebrated with full enthusiasm by students and staff at Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib. On this occasion, the Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pritpal Singh congratulated all the staff and students on Bandi Chhor Day and Diwali. Encouraging the staff and students participating in the Diwali fair, he said that on the occasion of Diwali, the environment is polluted on a large scale by using the wrong methods and using firecrackers, so we should celebrate Diwali in such a way that the ecological balance remain maintained and our future generations are also able to celebrate this festival.
Academic as well as co-academic activities have a special place in university life. Around 30 stalls were set up by the students of different departments of the university in this fair, where Punjabi cultural food and goods needed on the occasion of Diwali were bought and sold. On this occasion, cultural music, drama, exhibitions were also organized by various departments, in which Gatka performance was the center of special attraction. On this occasion, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing congratulated Dean Student Welfare, Dr. Sikandar Singh and his entire team for organizing this fair. A large number of students enjoyed this fair. At the end of the function, Dean Students’ Welfare, Dr Sikandar Singh thanked all the officers, staff and students.
