Divisional Commissioner Chander Gaind Asks Deputy Commissioners of Patiala Division to Ensure Punctuality of Officers and Staff in Their Districts

Patiala Division Commissioner, Chander Gaind has asked the Deputy Commissioners of the Districts falling in his division to ensure the punctuality of the officers and staff in their respective districts as per the directions of Punjab Chief Minister S. Charanjit Singh Channi to ensure transparent governance to the people coming to government offices. He interacted with all the deputy commissioners of the Patiala Division over the phone and conveyed the instructions.

He further said that the earlier instructions regarding the limited public dealing have been withdrawn by the state after speeding up the pace of vaccination and the people started to throng government offices for disposal and follow-up of their pending works. As there are no roster restrictions in government offices these days, the presence of employees has been made compulsory in all the offices, said Chander Gaind by adding that it will further facilitate the people coming to the government offices.

Commissioner Patiala Division added that he would soon conduct surprise visits to the district and tehsil offices of Patiala Division to ensure compliance with instructions issued by the Chief Minister so that the administrative set up at the ground level be made active and punctual.

He said that he has started it by holding a meeting of his own staff and made them clear that no laxity would be tolerated in case of their presence and punctuality. He said that he would take exemplary action if anyone was found guilty in the future.

He said whenever someone approaches the government office for disposal of his/her work and finds an official/concerned dealing hand, not in the chair, it definitely gives him/her pain. To mitigate these types of problems, it’s our prime duty to be punctual and dedicated to our duty.

He asked all the deputy commissioners, who fall in Patiala Division to make sure the compliance as well as surprise checking of the subordinate offices especially having public dealing.
