CM CHANNI JOINS PEOPLE FROM ALL WALKS OF LIFE TO PAY TRIBUTES TO MATA RAJ RANI JI

Roopnagar/Asron (SBS Nagar), December 5: Glowing tributes were paid to Mata Raj Rani, the mother of Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha Rana KP Singh, by several eminent personalities here at Gurudwara Tibbi Sahib during her Bhog and Antim Ardas.
Paying rich tributes to Mata Raj Rani ji, the Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi recalled his warm ties with the family since long and said that the death of Smt Raj Rani Ji was a huge personal loss to him. He said Mata Ji was a pious and religious soul who played a pivotal role in shaping the destiny of her progeny through imparting higher education to them. CM Channi said Mata Raj Rani Ji’s farsightedness and her passion for educating her children and grandchildren was evident from the fact that her son is serving the state and its people by elevating on highest constitutional post of Speaker Punjab Vidhan Sabha.
The Chief Minister appreciated the unique role of Rana family, which enjoyed an impeccable reputation in the region, for their honesty, integrity and devotion for the welfare of mankind on one hand and serving the state, party and administration with sincerity and diligence on the other. CM Channi said that sad demise of Mata Raj Rani ji has created a void which was difficult to be filled in near future. He also lauded the services of Mata Raj Rani in the political, social and religious fields as she was sarpanch of village Khatana in Nurpur Bedi block.
Paying homage to Mata Raj Rani ji, the Chief Minister expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the family members, friends and relatives in this hour of grief. He said the presence of thousands of people from all walks of life, who have converged here on the Bhog and Antim Ardas of Mata Ji reflects how highly she was respected by the people in the region. CM Channi described Mata Ji as a great visionary and worldly wise who got her children well educated to succeed in their life and serve the society, at a time when people had least awareness about the significance of education.
Prominent among others who paid tributes to Mata Raja Rani Ji, included, Cabinet Minister S. Manpreet Singh Badal, MPs Manish Tewari, Mohammad Sadique, Former MPs Santosh Chowdhary, Avinash Rai Khanna, Balwant Singh Ramuwalia and H S Hanspal, Former Ministers Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema and Master Mohan Lal, MLAs Balbir Singh Sidhu, Kulbeer Singh Zira, Angad Singh Nawanshahr, Dr Dharambir Agnihotri, Aman Arora, Amarjit Singh Sandoa, Sunil Dutti, Amrik Singh Dhillon, Bhag Singh, Jugal Kishore and Shahsher Singh Ex MLAs, HP MLAs Mukesh Agnihotri (Haroli-Una) and Ram (Naina Devi), Honorary Member NRI Commission Punjab, Daljit Sahota, Principal Secretary/CM Husan Lal, Commissiner Rupnagar Division Manvesh Singh Sidhu, Youth Congress President Birinder Singh Dhillon. Sant Baba Avtar Singh from Gurdwara Tibbi Sahib also addressed the gathering and expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister S. Charanjit Singh Channi and Speaker Punjab Legislative Assembly Rana K P Singh for their contribution to the approach road to the Gurdwara Sahib. He also honoured both with Doshalas.
