Birth of twin girls attached to the chest: hands-feet and head separated, the doctor said – seen this for the first time in his career

A delivery that took place on Monday night at Barwani District Hospital in Madhya Pradesh surprised the doctors and staff. Here a woman gave birth to twin girls who are conjoined. The doctor who did the delivery says that he saw this for the first time in his career. This is the first such case in the district as well.

Anita, a resident of village Rehgun, about 7 km from the district headquarters, gave birth to twin girls on Monday night at 12.09 pm. Women work in Gujarat. He had come to his village for delivery. Due to labor pain in the night, the relatives reached the primary health center. When the matter became serious, he was referred to Barwani District Hospital. Here the doctor got the delivery done through operation.

The twin girls who are born are joined together only at the chest, while their arms, legs, and head are separated. According to the doctors, the weight of both the twin girls at the time of birth was 3 kg 600 grams. According to the doctors, the girls were referred to Indore due to difficulty in breathing. According to Dr. Manoj Khanna, civil surgeon of the district hospital, this is the first case of birth of conjoined children in the Barwani district.

Dr. Laxman Awasya, pediatrician of the district hospital, said that the woman gave birth to twin babies by operation at night. After which both the children were stabilized and admitted to SNCU and referred to Indore for further treatment. The twin girls were fine at birth.
