Cooperation department decides to promote 159 Assistant Managers of Cooperative Banks to Managers and 55 Managers to Senior Managers
Chandigarh, October 14: Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa has made a total of 214 promotions in Punjab State Cooperative Bank Chandigarh and District Central Cooperative Banks of Punjab from Assistant Manager to Manager and from Manager to Senior Manager. Out of these, 159 Assistant Managers have been promoted as Managers and 55 Managers have been promoted as Senior Managers. Similarly, it has been decided to recruit 856 new posts in the Cooperative Banks.
Giving further detailsabout the recruitment of new posts being done in the Cooperative Banks, S. Randhawa further said that the process of recruitment of a total of 856 posts in various cadres would be completed soon to ensure smooth running of 820 branches of the Cooperative Bank in the state and to provide timely and quality services to the customers.
Deputy Chief Minister S. Randhawa who also holds the portfolio of Cooperation department, said that the cooperatives were being strengthened to further strengthen the cooperative movement. Under this initiative, as many as 214 promotions have been made keeping in view the long pending demand of the employees working in these banks with a view to make the Cooperative Banks competitive with the commercial banks.
The Deputy Chief Minister further said that the cooperation department is directly connected with the people of the state. The cooperative sector is the backbone of agriculture and the rural sector for which continuous efforts are being made to strengthen them in order to uplift their economic status said S. Randhawa adding that the state government is fully committed to keep the cooperatives modernized.
