Rs. 22.91 crore more released for up-gradation of infrastructure of government schools: Vijay Inder Singla
Punjab School Education Minister Mr. Vijay Inder Singla, on Wednesday, said that the Congress government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has continuously been working for the overall improvement in the field of school education and apart from other reforms and new initiatives; the infrastructure of government schools was also being updated. The cabinet minister informed that their government has recently sanctioned Rs. 22.91 crore for the up-gradation of basic infrastructure of high and senior secondary government schools.
Mr. Vijay Inder Singla said that the state has recently topped the PGI rankings in the country in the field of school education with the overall score of 929 marks out of a total 1000. He added that their government and the whole education department has been committed to retain the top level position and started working for the required improvements in the respective fields.
Mr. Singla said, “It is not the first time when the Congress government has released grants for the overall development of schools as it was being released on regular intervals as per the demands of the government schools.”
The cabinet minister said that the grant of Rs. 22.91 crore has also been sanctioned for the purchase of sports equipment, development of laboratories, internet services, potable water arrangements, electricity charges and for the maintenance of assets lying defunct in the schools. He added that the grant could also be used for the maintenance of the building of the school, construction of toilets and further improvement of other basic facilities in the schools.
