SGPC’S World University Celebrates World Food Day

Punjab (Fatehgarh Sahib): Department of Food Processing Technology, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib celebrated World Food Day-2021 by organizing various events which included Poster Making, Slogan writing, and Rangoli making. The main attraction of the event was different food stalls put up by students. The theme for world food day this year was, “Our Actions are Our Future – Better Production, Better Nutrition, Better Environment, and a Better Life”. About 85 students participated and the students who put up food stalls earned good profits too.

Prof. C. Rajesh (Dean, Faculty of Engineering), Prof. Navdeep Kaur (Head, Department of CSE), and Dr. Rupinderpal Singh Nagra (Department Incharge, Department of Food Processing Technology) graced the award ceremony with their presence. The Departmental ECA in Incharge, Dr. Navneet Kaur presented a welcome note and introduced the guests and students to the history and importance of celebrating World Food Day. Dr. C. Rajesh congratulated the department for the successful event and also encouraged faculty and students to organize such events in the future too.

Dr. Rupinder Pal Singh presented a vote of thanks to all the guests, faculty members, and students. Honorable Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Pritpal Singh acted as a pillar of support and praised the department for its efforts. Prof. S.S. Billing, Dean of Academic Affairs also congratulated the Department and emphasized that such an event boosts the competitive spirit among students.
