SGGS World University Organises Workshop on “Placement and Leadership Development”

A workshop on “Placement and Leadership Development” was organized by the Department of Training and Placement in association with the Faculty of Agriculture, Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh University on 9-10th May 2022. Dr. Vivek Vyas, Assistant Professor, and Nodal Officer, Institute of Agri-Business Management, Sri Ganganagar was the resource person for the workshop. The purpose of the workshop was to familiarize final and pre-final year students with the importance of effective communication skills, developing leadership qualities, preparing effective resumes, and how to build confidence for facing the interview. Around 100 participants of various Departments of the University which included Agriculture, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Commerce, and Management actively participated in and benefited from the workshop. The participants were made aware of the ladder to success in the communication process via conditioning and overcoming the changes in the environment for proper communication of message through proper body language, signs, and gestures. Various tips and attractive template formats for preparing a professional CV were shared and discussed with the students. A complete session on public speaking skills and how to prepare for the corporate job was delivered to the students. Inaugurating the workshop the Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pritpal Singh, congratulated the Department of Training and Placement, and Agriculture for organizing this workshop and emphasized the need for organizing such workshops regularly to instill confidence among students while facing placement interviews. Welcoming Dr. Vivek Vyas, Dr. C. Rajesh, Professor in Charge, Training, and Placement thanked him for providing important training to students of the University. He promised to hold such training sessions regularly for students who could not register for this event, due to the upper student limit for effective interactive session. Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. S. S. Bal presided over the session. The organizing committee was highly thankful to Honourable Pro-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) A.S. Brar, Honourable Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Prit Pal Singh, and Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Billing, Dean of Academic Affairs for their support in the successful conduct of the workshop.
