The NSS and NCC wings of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala today organized a rally at Government Middle School, Kheri Gujjran. against stubble burning to aware the public and farmers about dangerous effects of stubble burning such as degradation of quality of soil, environmental pollution, ecological life disruption and hazardous effects on human life as well as on flora- fauna.
The rally was flagged off by college Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar. Addressing the students he said that stubble burning is creating an environmental crisis for human life and our agricultural community. He said that there are many news in various media about unfortunate incidents occurred due to stubble causing a threat to life. He emphasized upon the intervention by the state with appropriate policies and implementation of laws to stop stubble burning.
NSS Programme officer Dr Rajeev Sharma and Professor Jagdeep Kaur motivated the students to engage with public and farmers and to discuss with them alternative ways to dispose off the stubble in an eco friendly way.
In this rally around 60 NSS volunteers and NCC cedets participated. They also enacted a play on this topic to spread their message.In this rally Dr. Rohit Sachdeva (ANO), Dr. Sumit (CTO), and Professor Deepak, (PO) were also present.
