Nabha Power Limited (NPL) conducted its first 21-day fully residential training programme for engineers working with Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited. The programme was focused on imparting operational training for operating supercritical thermal power plants. The programme was sponsored by Toshiba JSW Power Limited.
It witnessed participation of 32 engineers in two separate batches of 16 each.
Chief Executive Officer, Athar Shahab, said, “The Rajpura Thermal Power Plant was one of the best power plants in the world with a high level of efficiency and several establishments engaged in power generation were now approaching NPL for conducting such training programmes,”
During the programme, the engineers participated in the specially designed modules to accelerate their learning process. The modules started with general safety aspects followed at NPL. The course content also covered simulator cum field training.
The programme helped the engineers evolve a better understanding of aspects related to commissioning, operations, maintenance and emergency handling of the boiler, turbine and other auxiliaries of a supercritical thermal power plant.
The engineers also got a hands-on experience in plant’s auto/manual operations, emergency handling during start-up, shutdown and abnormal conditions. The field visits to the main thermal power plant helped the engineers have a first-hand experience of the entire operations.
The training was received with great enthusiasm by the engineers.
