Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University signs MoU with ICAI- CMA

Patiala, 23 December:

A Memorandum of Understanding  was signed between Officials of Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, the first State Open University of Punjab with the Institute of Cost Accountants of India here in Patiala today . The two organizations entered into an agreement to work and cooperate together for promotion of Management Accounting, Education and Profession as a common goal.

Prof. Karamjeet Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, while presiding over the joint meeting informed that the University plans to unite with all organizations for common interest and objectives so as to establish channels of communication and cooperation that will promote and advance their respective operations through education. Further the University along with ICAI-CMA shall pursue and promote excellence in common areas of interest with aim at imparting knowledge and skills for Academic, Research and Training domains. Dr. Dharam Singh Sandhu, Registrar and CMA Dr. Balwinder Singh signed the MOU on behalf of the two organizations. Dr. G.S. Batra, Director, Planning & Monitoring expressed that the opportunity created through the joint venture shall utilize the intellectual capabilities and acumen of the faculty for development of training system in tune with the needs of the industry.

The University shall provide platform for its students to learn and inculcate skills and knowledge for technological up-gradation and innovative ways to grow as a professional community. The efforts of the University shall create combination of formal education and practical absorption of training for its students and also help them to gain employment and professional careers after earning formal degrees.
