Farmers Express Satisfaction Over the Ongoing Procurement Operation of Wheat Crop

Expressing satisfaction with the timely, smooth and hassle-free arrangements for procurement of their produce in various mandis of Patiala district, the farmers said that though it was very tough to start such a huge procurement operation in wake of surge in COVID but barring a few hiccups they are feeling fully satisfied over the procurement arrangements made by the district administration in the grain mandis of the district for the procurement of wheat.  A total of 352 procurement centers were set up in the district this time to prevent COVID infection, which include 110 mandis and 212 rice mills and 30 temporary procurement centers were set up at public places.
      Meanwhile, Satinder Singh, a resident of village Miranpur in Dudhan Sadhan sub-division of Patiala district, said that when he brought 150 quintals of his produce to Devigarh Mandi, he was happy that his wheat was purchased in just two hours. He also expressed satisfaction over the water, sanitizing and other procurement arrangements in the mandi. Mr. Satinder Singh also thanked the Punjab Government and the Market Committee officials.
     Similarly Harjinder Singh, a resident of village Duladi in Nabha sub division of Patiala district said that his wheat was sold on the same day as it was dry, for which he thanked the Punjab government. Another farmer Prabhdeep Singh, who has sell his 120 quintals crop with in hours of reaching Mandi, expressed satisfaction that every precaution was being taken against the corona virus in the mandi.  Sanitizers were placed outside.  He also thanked the Punjab Government for better procurement arrangements.
      While Raghbir Singh of village Kalwanu thanked the marketing staff for helping him to sell his 100 quintals of wheat on time and thanked the Punjab government.  Similarly, Inder Singh resident of Mehtabgarh also said that he got the payment of his sold crop on time for which he is happy with the arrangements made.  Farmer Amarjit Singh of village Kotla also said that he was also paid on time and he expressed immense pleasure over the procurement arrangements in the mandi.
